While keeping weeds at bay, this cost-effective roll provides a microclimate for growing, moderating soil temperature. Hemp's ability to absorb water and release it slowly into the soil allows 30-50% less water use compared to bare soil. Will not damage trunks or stalks with direct contact. Anchor to the ground with Woven Earth's biodegradable anchor stakes for a complete, all natural mulch solution. Each roll weighs about 7% of the weight of its equivalent square footage of bark mulch, and lasts between 1-3 years, depending on the climate.

A website exclusive, and the largest we sell, this contractor-sized roll is 3' wide by 246' long, for a coverage of 738 square feet (68.2 square meters). It is an excellent value for large projects or emergency mulching or erosion control. Its dense, nonwoven hemp fiber allows water to seep through, but blocks sunlight. Weeds are suppressed and water conserved. As it degrades, the hemp fibers mix with the soil, providing natural humus. This roll weighs 98 pounds.
